Because of its unique characteristics, TVH® Brass is considered to be the material of choice for the manufacture of components. Brass is highly resistant and its ductility couples well with its corrosion resistance for easy handling in machines and tools.


Brass is the benchmark by which the machinability of other materials is measured. It is also available in a wide range of alloys and tight tolerance dimensions to ensure that only a minimum of machining is required to achieve finished sizes.

Since it is impervious to salt water, it is liberally used in the construction of boats, fishing and marine equipment, but is also utilized to make musical instruments and the reeds in accordions and other pipe organs. Because of its antimicrobial action, it is used for doorknobs in hospitals since they are self disinfecting unlike other metals. Brass also does not produce sparks when mechanically struck, another atypical property among metals. The applications of brass span several more and diverse fields, such as armaments, boilers, welding and the making of wires, condenser tubes, electrical terminals and even coins.
